Built for podcasters and audio creators

PandaStudio for podcasters

Cut episodes, generate video clips, and publish — without paying Descript per seat per month.

The problem

You're a podcaster — solo show, weekly cadence, or running an interview format with a co-host or guest. Recording is solved (Riverside, SquadCast, or local capture). Editing is the slow part: cut filler words, structure with chapters, generate clips for social, ship as both audio and video. Descript handles this beautifully but is per-seat SaaS forever; you want a one-time-purchase tool that does the same loop.

How PandaStudio fits

PandaStudio is a strong fit for the post-recording side of podcasting. Import your Riverside / SquadCast / Zencastr export, transcript-edit out fillers and rough takes, AI-generate chapter timestamps from the transcript, generate vertical video clips for Shorts/Reels via AI Shorts, export both video (for YouTube) and audio (for podcast hosts). One-time purchase, no per-seat recurring.

A typical workflow

  1. 1

    1. Import recording

Drop the multi-track export from Riverside / SquadCast / Zencastr into PandaStudio's Home → Import video card.

  2. 2

    2. Local Whisper transcription

Transcript regenerates locally as soon as the import finishes. Hour-long episode transcribes in 1-2 minutes on Apple Silicon.

  3. 3

    3. Filler-word + silence removal

Built-in commands trim fillers and long silences automatically. Transcript-edit to remove specific takes you don't like.

  4. 4

    4. AI chapter timestamps

AI scans the transcript and generates chapter markers — 'Welcome', 'Sponsor break', 'Topic 1 — guest's background', etc.

  5. 5

    5. Generate clips for social

AI Shorts identifies the most clip-worthy 30-90s segments and exports them as vertical video with captions and a motion-graphic title card.

  6. 6

    6. Export audio + video

Audio-only export goes to your podcast host (Transistor / Buzzsprout / etc.); video export goes to YouTube.

Frequently asked questions

Can PandaStudio replace Descript for podcasting?

For solo or small-team podcasts where the editing workflow is transcript-edit + chapters + clips + export, yes — PandaStudio covers that loop and is one-time purchase. For multi-guest remote recording (the SquadCast side of Descript), PandaStudio doesn't try to compete; pair it with a dedicated remote-recording tool.

What about Descript's Studio Sound?

PandaStudio bundles deep-filter, a DNN-based noise-removal model used by several pro tools. For typical podcast audio (room, fan, mild keyboard noise) it's comparable to Studio Sound. For extreme noise (windy outdoor, loud HVAC), Studio Sound has a slight edge.

Does PandaStudio handle multi-track audio?

Multi-track recording isn't the focus — that's Riverside / SquadCast / Zencastr territory. PandaStudio happily imports the multi-track files those tools export. Each track lives as a separate audio overlay on the timeline with independent volume + denoising.

Can I publish to my podcast host?

PandaStudio's export library produces both video (MP4) and audio-only (M4A) exports from the same project. The audio export goes to whatever podcast host you use (Transistor, Buzzsprout, Anchor, etc.) — there's no built-in podcast-host integration but the audio file is what those services expect.
